Everyone Loves A Big Fat Lie

Dotted over, too bright and too bold
Soft surfaces to make you feel at home
Effervescence clinging to sinewy flesh
Bones bend and mold to fit the heat

Desperate wetness inside your mind
Mingle with yes-yeses and oh-nos
A glint of gold to embrace the black

A dark tide sweeps through the night
All semblance of dreams, washed away
And the leaves that dance across the road
Will guide you nowhere
